Want A Year’s Free Childcare?

I learned through twittermoms.com that Care.com is running a sweepstakes contest where the grand prize is a cash prize worth $12, 445. This amount represents what it would cost the average family  to pay for year's worth of child care for two young children. Care.com offers "mom-reviewed" babysitters and nannies. Twittermoms is also running a contest in conjunction with Care.com to win a premium membership for one month's service at Care.com. You can find more details here.

Good luck, everyone! I know how expensive childcare is, and I would love for one of my readers to win this terrific prize.

This is a great post, I work with students getting ready to get back into college, and have specialized in working with adults who have had trouble deciding if college was right for them after so many years.
The questions you posted were excellent, this does help you to have a clearer understanding if this is the right decision for you.
In many cases because of how online classes and education are structured there is much more freedom to be able to seek out help in various areas of the class.
I’ve taken a number of online classes and for each class there was typically additional resources which are very helpful, topics include general information relating specifically to the class, to numbers for tech support where you actually speak to a live person, if you can imagine, to step by step tutorials, a number where you can call and speak to your professor and others in the class who have similar concerns. Online education has actually come a long way in just a few short years.

The main thing you need to have is the motivation to learn. When you have narrowed down what type of college you may consider talk to your Admissions Advisor and let them know your concerns and find out what they have in place to help you.

However if you determine that this is not a good fit for you don’t worry, there are other ways to get the education you are looking for, think about a certificate for example.
These are great ways to get the education you need, a non traditional student has so many options available to him/her now. You are in the right place to learn about these.

  3. My company is currently running a similar promotion. Go to a Childrens Lighthouse location nearest you and tour the facility. Fill out an entry form and be entered into a drawing on February 1, 2010 for a FREE YEAR of childcare for one child. One child across all markets. Go to our website to find out more information.

Wow… Great article My daughter is seven on sunday and has already planned a day out at the aquarium. Normally we are out and about even in December but this year the weather has been so bad we have had to choose an indoor activity .. any suggestions you can come up with?

  5. Thanks for the great info you provide. Yes, childcare can be expensive. But here are also some misconceptions. Many people think that hiring a nanny or babysitter is expensive. That’s not necessarily true. When you compare it to the cost of a daycare nowadays, hiring a nanny is clearly within reach for many families. A new trend for families is to bring in their family members to provide childcare. The Granny Nanny!
