The Non-Traditional Student
I came across this fun little video on YouTube tonight by nkettler. It gives a wonderful graphic illustration of our lives as non-traditional students. This also marks the debut of video on Back2SchoolMoms.com. I'm still patting myself on the back for getting so technically advanced at such an advanced age! I probably should have asked one of my kids earlier; I could have had video months ago! There is no audio--see, I didn't screw it up after all.
Enjoy!

My thoughts exactly as a non-traditional student. Our lives can become so overwhelmed with all we try to do but in the end we will persevere and have that diploma!
Absolutely, Roxanne! When I was going to college I often felt totally overwhelmed and thought I’d never make it through. But, you know, I managed to fumble myself through and come out with that diploma after all. Good luck to you next semester!
I am also one of Nts ,as of now I am in 3rd year BSEd students major in math . Even it’s hard to study while working as well as I’m a mom of six kids. It rewards me a lot when I got high grades and I know after I finish my course at the age of 40. There will be a good future ahead of me and my family.
Victoria, you should be commended highly for tackling college while working and dealing with all the needs of six children. Outstanding! We need more math teachers too, so your accomplishments will serve the next generation as well. I finished at the age of 40 as well, so it’s never too late!
If you have time, I’d love to interview you about how you manage to juggle it all. If you’re interested, please e-mail me at norma@back2schoolmoms.com.
