how to list degrees in progress on a resume?
hi, i am going to 2 colleges at the same time. for one of them i need one more class and i will get my associates degree in the summer. i am just starting out at another college and i’ll finish my degree next december. how do i state this on my resume?
this is kind of how i have it now but i don’t like how i presented it. should i write that it’s in progress?

The correct way would be to use a comma.
Write: Associate Degree, Human Services. (be sure to capitalize the degree/title)
If the school you went too is prestigeous, then list the college name too.
For example: Associate Degree, Human Service, Harvard.
If it was on-line degree, don’t list it.
The idea of a resume is to capture the interest of employer, so they will call you in for interview.
Mistakes, or putting down anything that looks sloppy, or inferior will put your resume at bottom of pile.
I agree with S lang with one exception. If you are applying for a position with a firm that requires a fine arts background I would think it would be appropriate to list your A.F.A. degree while noting that the B.A. (list your area of study if also relevant to position sought) is in progress.

Your most recent degree comes first, followed by the one next to it. Your 2008-2009 degree comes before that of 2006-2008.
associates is 2 yr.
bachelors is 4 yrs.
masters is roughly 6 yrs.
ph.d. is roughly 8 years.
You could get some ideas in a variety of ways…
1. Look on the Petersons College Search site. You can select various subject areas and select Associate’s as the degree level. Continue to narrow your search by state or region – or not.

2. Check your local library catalog (from the library website) and do a title search for the College Blue Book. This multivolume set is quite often found in the reference section of the library. It includes a volume that you can use to search for associate programs in various subjects and see which colleges offer a program in that area.
