Grammar Traps

I came across a great little site called  Grammar Traps from the Perdue University Agriculture Communications center which neatly explains those pesky little grammar mistakes that we all tend to make. Not sure of the difference between "affect" and "effect" (btw, one of my pet peeves in others' writing!), or "principle and principal"? Or what the difference is between active voice and passive voice? If you struggle with any of these grammar traps, this site is for you. It's a great concise reference site for anyone who writes on a regular basis. Even if you're a confident writer, there is always a time when you wonder "Hmmmm, is this correct usage?' It's always better to look it up than look like an id-i-ot.

Using this site will make you look like a genius when you're writing your English 201 essay on the subject of quest symbolism in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Really. Trust me on this one.
