There's a new concept entering the world of Wall Street. Called Sustainability, it's the method of exploiting a resource so it's never depleted so that the resource is not permanently depleted. As someone with even the slightest green consciousness is starting to realize, the world is facing an ecological crisis of epic proportions. The planet can not simply replace the resources as fast as the human population is depleting it.
