College Credit for Work, Military and Life Experience

You may already have earned college credit equivalencies through prior work and life experience. For example, courses you have taken through an employer may very well transfer into college credit. The American Council on Education Credit has an extensive website with information on colleges that will consider transfer credits gained though these means. The organization also let you request a transcript for credit-recommended courses you have completed to submit to the college of your choice. As well as recommending credit for courses taken through employers, the Council has military registries for service members to get college credits for training courses they have completed. Here is the link for ACE’s military program.

You owe it to yourself to check out the great resources available on ACE’s website. Remember, those college credits cost both money and a lot of time. If you can get a jump on your credits through ACE, you are saving money and are that much closer to completing your degree.
