I am about to get my associates in accounting, after which i’ll go n get my bachelors! but my counselors tell me tht these days associtate degrees are juss for tha heck of it. What are some accredited online colleges that have associates degrees that are affordable?
Kind of like Western Governors College, but associates degree. WGU only offers Bachelors and Masters degrees. Every where I look its like over 20 grand for an associates degree which is ridiculous.
Associates Degrees?
My question: If someone earns an Associates in Applied Science degree, in lets say Missouri, would it be valid in lets say Arkansas? Is is possible to transfer credits between states?
For the job you are interested in they will probably take your degree into consideration but the biggest this is EXPERIENCE! I know people that have worked their way up from just sale associates that have no higher education at all. For the job you want experience is a must.

Check the community colleges in your home state. A lot of them offer associates degrees online now, and because they’re your state’s public colleges, they’ll be your least expensive option.
For example, several of the SUNY ccs offer online degrees. You can find them by googling “SUNY online”. Check the websites for your local ccs. If it’s not clear if they offer online degrees, contact the school directly.

You can also look at certificate programs. Those programs provide you with the skills needed to enter the workforce even faster than an A.A. or A.S. degree. Since you take the courses at a community college, units earned can be applied towards a degree at a later date.
It’s up to each school which credits they will accept, but it should not matter if you went to school in a different state.
You can’t , except for any pre-reqs (but usually the CC classes are too low level). PA training is like med school–it is a track program, the hours are specified at the national level, and you can not get credit for any part of it. Most programs are now at the masters levels anyway, so you need to get a bachelors degree first; some of your CC credits will transfer into that. There is a reason why you can not skip parts of medical training.
