what kind of bachelors degree can i get after obtaining an associates degree in health information technology?
i am in school full time obtaining my associates degree in health information technology but i’m starting to question myself if i ‘ve made the right move. I don’t want to deal witht he medical just on a business base i want to be some type of doctor……am i going in the right direction???

As long as the program is CAHIM accredited it is good. Be very careful with the online ones, I believe many of them are NOT accredited.
It looks like an associates degree is needed for entry level jobs, but that you would probably need more education for advancement. You will probably need to have strong computer/database skills, and the schooling (and jobs) will be different from nursing, etc. in that it seems less medically/scientifically centered.
Depends – If you go to a school that is accredited by AHIMA (www.ahima.org), then you can do almost anything related to HIT.
That means you can take your national exam, the RHIT exam.
With the RHIT, you could be a transcriptionist, coder, biller, or director of medical records. You could work almost anywhere – hospitals, insurance companies, lawyer offices, doctor’s offices, etc.
The salary really depends on what you do and where you live…
