A Word About the School Bookstore
I will garner the wrath of many college bookstores for this post. Here is what I have to say about the college bookstore: avoid it if you can. Textbooks are extremely expensive, and it's nothing to drop five or six-hundred dollars for a semester's textbooks. Books in college bookstores are very overpriced compared to other sources where books are available.
Check out postings on bulletin boards around your school with books for sale. As well, look into some websites for quality textbooks at a fraction of what you’ll pay in the bookstore. Just make sure that the editions of textbooks you find on these sites are the same as the ones your professors want you to use. Now if your professor selects a textbook that he/she authored, you may just be out of luck finding it for sale elsewhere.
Likewise, think before you sell last semester's books back to the college bookstore. You'll do much better posting them for sale online than the pittance you'll receive from the bookstore.
